Quezon City, NCR — Good news for Maine Mendoza and her legion of supporters as the suspected perpetrator behind the murder of Maine’s loyal fangirl, Maria Rachelle “Raz” Alfaro, has finally been arrested.
In a tweet by DZBB reporter Glen Juego dated January 16, 2018, the suspect behind the gruesome killing of Rachelle Alfaro has finally been apprehended by officers of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspect is 26-year-old Shanon James Bon Buckley, also known as Gerald Peñaflor. He was presented to the media as the primary suspect in the murder of Rachelle Alfaro, a registered nurse who died of several stab wounds. Her body was found in Cavite in March of last year.
According to Philstar, the suspect was apprehended by the authorities at a condominium unit in Mandaluyong City on January 12. During the arrest, PDEA officers saw 1.6 liters of liquid ecstasy, 70 ecstasy tablets, and six packs of cocaine in the condo unit.
The suspect denied his involvement in the killing of the victim. He told the reporters that it was his ex-girlfriend, Ngar Yee Chan, who stabbed Rachelle to death and even claimed that he caught her in the act. He was then asked why he did nothing to stop the crime if he indeed saw it being committed. His response was he claimed that he told his ex to call an ambulance.
Rachelle Alfaro’s extended his gratitude to the authorities for capturing his daughter’s alleged killer.
Consequently, Maine Mendoza also shared the news of the suspect’s arrest on Twitter.
According to a “Saksi” news report dated March 2017, Rachelle Alfaro was a registered nurse and a call center agent. She incurred 17 stab wounds that led to her death at a resort in Tanza, Cavite. She was also known as the social media administrator of the “The MaineGirls Fans Club.”
Maine also expressed her grief over the tragic death of her fan via a tweet dated March 5, 2017.
